Somehow, Zara, Arket and H&M's Interiors Sections Are Even Better in 2021

Much like our wardrobes, the start of a new year has us itching to give our interiors a bit of a refresh, too. With your festive decorations now packed away for another year, their absence might also highlight the things your home is lacking. Perhaps there's a bare corner that could really use some attention, or maybe your mantlepiece needs some adornment. Well, rest assured you needn't spend a small fortune to breathe a new lease of life into your living or bedroom, for the high street has already dropped some impressive new homeware collections.

This Zara chair was a 2020 best-seller.

H&M continues to champion the neutral palette that worked so well for it last year, only this time around the brand has become more experimental with textures. Rattan, marble, velvet, and cotton come together to create a pared-back but cosy ambience in any room. Then there's Arket, which is serving up its own take on the eclectic interior movement, the minimal Scandi way. You'll find ceramic plant pots in happy colours, adorable cutlery to make every mealtime special, and a blanket so popular, we see it in the homes of just about every influencer we follow.

And finally, while the midcentury vibe is still evident at Zara, the brand is also taking the rustic interiors approach this season, with oversized jugs that double up as vases, rustic stools, and gingham fabrics covering cushions and throws. It's all very cottagecore, and we love it. Pick whichever theme suits your style best, then scroll below to see our favourite pieces from H&M, Arket and Zara for each look.

She accepted, leaving university a year early in the process. Her passion and natural talent for writing and styling meant she swiftly rose through the ranks to become the title's fashion news and commercial content editor, with a stint as InStyle.co.uk’s fashion and beauty writer along the way. She later served as Look’s acting Editor in Chief, overseeing both print and digital, before embarking on a successful freelance career, working with Grazia, The Pool, and Marie Claire amongst others.

Maxine is based remotely from her countryside home near Edinburgh where she spends her downtime renovating her house, walking her dogs, hosting friends and trying to master the art of making Old Fashioned cocktails.
