I Shop for a Living—Here Are 30 Expensive-Looking Winter Basics Under £75

It's clear that we're all going to be on a bit of a tighter budget this winter, but that doesn't help the fact that we still want our wardrobes to look chic, elevated and, well, expensive. That's why I thought I'd put my shopping-expert talents to good use and pull together an edit of the most impressive, expensive-looking winter basics I've seen so far this season—all under £75.

We Who What Wear editors spend a lot of time scrolling through both designer and high-street collections, comparing and considering where to invest and where to save. Some pieces, like a beautiful leather bag or classic coat, are worth spending a bit more on so that you don't have to repeat-buy. But from my cold-weather wardrobe research this year, there are also plenty of pieces—especially basics—that you can find excellent versions of on the high street. Think cosy knits, polished jumper dresses and even extra-warm puffer coats (perfect for those of us still refusing to turn the heating on).

Keep scrolling and you'll see 30 affordable buys under £75, all of which can be put towards building the framework of your winter wardrobe. From leggings and tights to blazers and boots, they're all here, ready for you to shop (practically) guilt-free. Enjoy!

Shop Under-£75 Winter Basics

Zara's fleecey jackets are selling faster than you can say "cosy winter wardrobe." Probably because they come in at such an affordable price point.

Leather trousers are such a versatile capsule piece— dress them up or down.

Pure cashmere at an affordable price.

A collared knit adds interest to your basics.

This is a key layering piece every wardrobe should have in it.

Stay warm without spending hundreds of pounds on a coat this winter.

I have these, and honestly, they're the perfect jeans.

Stripes are stripes no matter how much you spend on them.

I like that this is slightly cropped to wear with high-waisted trousers and skirts.

I can't get over how beautifully soft this looks.

So many WWW editors just bought these boots. Plus there's 20% off for limited time in the sale.

A classic black blazer will see you through all sorts of events.

The bag itself isn't made from leather, which means it sits at a much more affordable price point for something that looks so expensive. Importantly, though, the strap is 100% leather, meaning the most-used part will still be hardwearing.

Leggings are probably my most-worn item, and I'm not embarrassed to say it.

Such an easy, throw-on winter dress.

I'm still obsessed with sweetheart necklines.

This looks three times its price point.

A classic pair of black trousers will never go amiss. These are my favourites out there right now.

I love wearing these with leggings and a jumper on weekends.

The best tights around that never ladder.

This chic neutral colour elevates a simple pair of leggings.

For re-creating the Princess Diana look.

A smart style that's perfect for wearing to work.

Brighten up your basics with this top-quality cardigan.

An LBD is always a good idea, and this one can be dressed up or down.
