9 Items to Add to Your November Wardrobe (If They Aren't Already in It)

As I type this, November is just mere hours away. November. Where has the time gone? Everyone I ask agrees—2019 seems to have been going to double speed. It feels like merely days ago that I was rounding up summer's top sandal trends, and now I'm here to talk to you about my favourite month.

There's a certain magic in the air when November rolls around. It's close enough to Christmas to start feeling the excitement mount, but not so close so that it's overbearingly stressful. It's a month I tend to spend looking ahead, without the urgency that hits come December. I also love November for the fact it is, essentially, a season all in itself. Outfits give a glamorous nod to the parties on the horizon while the weather generally allows you to bundle up with chic aplomb, as opposed to protecting yourself from the bone-chilling cold typically associated with January.

It's clear I'm not the only one relishing in this between-season lull; many of my favourite influencers to follow have been wearing some of the best looks to date during the November countdown. So good are they that I just had to share them with you.

Below you'll find an edit of exactly what to wear in November 2019, as demonstrated by some of Instagram's best dressed. From the new It coat to the boots that go with everything, consider the following your ultimate November capsule.

1. BOLD CHECK COAT

Style Notes: Right now, everyone who's anyone is wearing checked coats, but not as you know them. The motif has been blown up to epic sizes and painted in a palette of bright tones, making for one of the most directional outerwear options of the season.

2. LEATHER JUMPSUIT

Style Notes: This year's obsession with the all-in-one shows no signs of waning, only now you'll find the chicest are zoning in on leather and vegan leather iterations.

3. BORG BAG

Style Notes: One of the coolest updates you can make to your wardrobe this winter is a borg bag. Not only does it look the fashionable part but, should you find yourself without gloves, it'll double-up as a toasty hand-warmer.

4. SATIN TOP

Style Notes: As we nudge ever closer to party season, it pays to give your daily looks a dose of glamour, just in case you find yourself being asked out for last-minute drinks, which always seems to happen at this time of year. The answer? A satin top that has the power to make even the most basic jeans look fanciful.

5. SMOCKED DRESS

Style Notes: Totême's smocked dress was one of the most in-demand dresses of autumn, and now there's a slew of them to choose from.

6. BOOTCUT JEANS

Style Notes: While straight-leg jeans have been largely stealing the denim spotlight this year, it appears winter 2019 marks the return of the '90s bootcut. Wear it with a checked blazer and a bright roll-neck for a 2019 take.

7. FLORAL CARDIGAN

Style Notes: 2019 has been the year of the cardigan, and the latest cult style comes complete with cute floral embroidery. Be it jewelled or stitched, everyone needs an in-bloom cardigan at their disposal to see out the next few months.

8. PRINTED MIDI SKIRT

Style Notes: Specifically, a printed skirt where the colour black is predominately featured. Why? Because skirts with dark base colours will blend more seamlessly with black opaque tights, which, let’s face it, we’re going to be living in for the foreseeable.

9. ECRU BOOTS

Style Notes: Light-hued boots might seem like a daunting footwear choice when, in reality, they look amazing with just about everything you can dream of pairing them with. Look for creamy, ecru tones as they won't look as stark (or feel as intimidating) as gleaming white styles.
