I'm a Stylist With Classic Taste— Here's Everything I Wore This Week

Is anyone else finding it hard to get dressed right now? My heart wants to embrace spring in full force, but the weather has other ideas. One day it’s sunny but freezing, the next it’s grey but positively balmy— and let’s not even go there with the snow and thunderstorms this week. I’m a stylist and even I’m finding it difficult. You might think putting my outfits together would be an effortless task every morning, but there are certain times of the year when it just requires a little more time and effort, and early spring is one of them.

The good thing about my line of work is that I always have a few tips and tricks up my sleeve for times like these. My personal style (and the style I usually lean towards with my clients) is very classic and I’d say mostly minimalist, so when I’m a little lost for inspiration I usually end up turning to my capsule wardrobe of elevated staples that I know will not only look polished together but also make me feel confident whatever my day holds.

Since most of us are probably struggling to know what to wear right now, I thought I’d keep a record of the outfits I ended up wearing this week in case it might be helpful to provide daily inspiration.

Keep scrolling and you’ll see my seven latest outfits; featuring my current addiction to wide-leg trousers, my new Birkenstocks and, of course, my trench coat. There’s casual weekend looks and outfits I donned for working from home and smarter looks for heading to the office, as well as a leather trousers appearance for dinner with the girls. I've tried to nod to spring wear I can— mostly in colours and lighter jackets and footwear— but layered them all up for warmth. I’ve added links to the exact pieces that are still available (the perks of buying anti-trend items) and alternatives otherwise, in case you’re looking to build up your spring capsule too. See them all below...
