Your Local Charity Shop Has All of This Season's Biggest Trends

"Vintage" is a key word for autumn/winter 2018 thanks to "grandma" silk scarves, traditional tweed suiting, '80s silhouettes and croc-stamped accessories. Lisa Aiken, the former fashion director at Net-a-Porter, explained at her trends presentation earlier in the year: "While the Gucci impact is still very prominent, what we've seen come through this season is lots of tweed, faux-fur and scarf prints from Richard Quinn, which was a standout show of the season. There were a mash-up of references and designers have taken this idea of vintage and made it their own."

Vintage prints, such as heritage checks and silk scarf prints, add an air of sophistication to your wardrobe, while accessories have an antique feel thanks to mock croc textures. As for dress trends, '80s-inspired prom silhouettes and wallpaper florals are all over our Instagram feeds this party season. Designers such as Miu Miu, Richard Quinn, Toga and Burberry are championing these vintage trends, while emerging cult brands such as Staud, Nanushka and Rotate are also updating heritage buys.
