I've Studied Victoria Beckham's Winter Capsule Wardrobe—These 5 Pieces Are It

This autumn has been a lucky season for all Victoria Beckham fans. With the release earlier this month of four-part docuseries Beckham, which chronicles the lives of Victoria and David Beckham, as well as her highly acclaimed runway show in Paris during Fashion Month in September, we've had a full helping of Beckham sightings and fresh fashion inspiration. Since her Posh-Spice days of the '90s, Beckham has held a special place in my heart for her considered, chic and on-brand personal style that leans on classic silhouettes as well as new and trending pieces. As a fashion writer, I spend a good amount of time analysing the nuances of celebrity style, and as an unabashed Beckham fan, I am delighted to share with you my learnings of how she keeps her winter outfits looking both timeless and bang on trend.

Read on to discover Beckham's winter-wardrobe staples, as well as how she likes to style them.

1. TALKING-POINT TIGHTS

Style Notes: Well acquainted with the power of subtle accessories, Beckham was spotted last week wearing a surprising pair of fishnet tights with her long black dress. Soon afterwards (pictured above), she opted for a minidress pairing in a chic evening look I'll be copying this winter.

2. A WHITE SUIT

Style Notes: Nothing makes getting dressed for event season easier than an excellent suit. In a chic, longline cut, this bright white shade comes to life. Style with black accessories for an impossibly chic outfit that will look like it came straight from Beckham's wardrobe.

3. FULL-COVERAGE DRESSES

Style Notes: I'm buying into the draped-dress trend this season for its flattering and wearable qualities. Opt for a long-sleeved version just like Beckham and there's no need to pack away your dresses when it gets chillier.

4. WIDE-LEG TROUSERS

Style Notes: Add a dramatic element to a simple look by forgoing jeans for a pair of anti-trend flared trousers. They can be styled up or down with sky-high heels or worn casually with trainers—a leather jacket and Hermès bag (or affordable equivalent) will work either way.

5. A TRUSTY BLACK DRESS

Style Notes: If you've studied Beckham's style as I have, you'll know her best outfits often feature a sleek black dress. And as we head into winter I'm following suit, opting for elegant black dresses all season long.
