Here at Who What Wear, we're big fans of Uniqlo for their extensive collection of basics that are both quality and modern—an endless supply of T-shirts, sweatshirts, and even jeans that are all a relatively affordable price point. So their latest collaborator, CR Fashion Book's own Carine Roitfeld, has us incredibly intrigued.
Roitfeld will design a collection for the brand's F/W 15 LifeWear lineup, which comes out at the end of October. The collection is set to include about 40 pieces, ranging from outerwear to what the brand calls in a release "feminine innerwear."
"I feel joy at creating new mode expressions. I am constantly asking myself what these are, and creating new clothing within the Uniqlo LifeWear concept is a great challenge," Roitfeld says in a statement from the brand. "I started from the idea of clothes that I would want to wear myself, and developed this into clothes that anyone would want to wear, a woman’s ideal of clothes that make her feel transformed when she wears them."
Roitfeld is known for possessing a vision that leans toward the avant-garde and experimental, so this collaboration should be very interesting. We can't wait to see how Uniqlo's taste for streamlined modernism marries with Roitfeld's taste for the more outrageous.
