The London Girl We Follow for Expensive-Looking Outfit Ideas

If your current fashion goal is to give your everyday outfits instant polish, then we have the solution. Lately, we've become borderline obsessed with Ume-Romaan Sacranie, an influencer working between Leicester and London whose penchant for exquisite tailoring, excellent accessories, cosy knitwear and on-point denim proves that sometimes less is more when it comes to outfit selection.

As confident in floral dresses as she is in sharp suiting, the 29-year-old designer and content creator's wardrobe ticks off every element of a dream capsule. How has she managed to curate the perfect edit? By making versatility her paramount concern.

"Before I buy anything, I always consider how timeless and versatile that item is," Ume-Romaan explains. "I like to be conscious about my shopping choices, so I'm big on clothing and accessories that can transcend through the years. I love the idea of building a refined wardrobe, so for me, it's key that new pieces work with what I already own."

Ume also reveals she's anything but an impulse shopper: "When I'm thinking about an investment piece that's high-priced, it's usually something I've obsessed over for months—sometimes years. I haven't ever purchased anything like that on a whim. That's when I know it's something I really want and not just trend-focused."

That's not to say, though, that her closet solely consists of high-ticket items—far from it. Although she has a soft spot for the likes of Totême and Acne Studios, there's one high-street shop she just can't get enough of. "I also really love Arket," she says. "It has some great classics that are made really well." Clearly, she's a girl after our own hearts.

So what is it that makes her outfits look so expensive, even when they aren't? "Honestly, not thinking about it too much your outfit. I think French women have really mastered the formula of being polished and effortlessly dressed without looking super done, so I try to follow their lead by wearing what instinctively looks good together. That said, I also think fit is really key. A tailored cut instantly looks pulled-together."
