This year's swimwear trends are as ever quite a mixed bag, with everything from neutral crinkle bandeaus to acid-green snake string micro bikinis causing a spike in sales. If your Instagram feed is anything like mine this month, then you will agree we have well and truly hit out-of-office season, and there are certain swimsuits, in particular, that I see just as much as Aperol spritz selfies and infinity pool–scapes.
On the high street, ASOS, Warehouse and & Other Stories have created popular bikinis for under £60. If you are happy to spend a little more, however, Rixo has launched vintage-style swimwear that isn't like anything currently available elsewhere, and Solid and Striped's yellow retro floral print is one of the most feel-good bikinis I've seen so far this summer. Nostalgic prints are proving really popular for swimwear this year across all price points, with lime-green checks, jolly florals and colourful plaids that any '90s kid probably wore under the age of 10 appearing again and again. As for silhouettes, there isn't one trending shape—high-waisted bottoms, scoop-leg briefs, bandeaus, string tops and crop tops all feature in the list below.
