I know you've probably seen that meme doing the rounds, but honestly, how long has January felt this year? January is that meeting that has overrun by half an hour at 5:30 p.m. on Friday afternoon when you've still got loads more work to do. Thankfully, I'm pleased to inform you that we're finally here. We made it. You can now drink some booze, stop doing so much exercise and eat some cheese. There's also another thing that happens around this time: We all get paid. While I wouldn't suggest to go out and splash the cash on everything you've been eyeing up this month, there are a few trending spring offerings that I think are worth investing in.
After spending an inordinate amount of time on Instagram (because what else was there to do this month?), I discovered that there are a few items that influencers have nabbed and look incredible. However, I haven't just put everything in that's trending—I've kept it to items I genuinely love and could imagine wearing now and well into next year. There's that & Other Stories oversized blazer that continues to be a staple of plenty of influencers' wardrobes, a pink suit and a pair of Topshop boots I haven't been able to stop thinking about. There's also a very chic knitted Zara hoodie and sweatpants co-ord and an ASOS dress that is tapping into the décolletage spring/summer 2020 trend. Ready to meet your new favourite items? Keep scrolling…
Style Notes: Okay, so this & Other Stories cardigan sold out almost immediately, but there are plenty of others from the store that are still available. My favourite colour is an off-white/cream hue that's ideal for wearing with blue jeans.
Style Notes: Pink suits have been around for seasons now, which is how I know this isn't going to be a trend that'll disappear fast. Also, it's worth noting that suiting, in general, is big for this coming season, so it'll be a great investment.
Style Notes: Track-sole boots have been done by everyone from The Row to Bottega as well as Zara. But right now, we've got our eye on this pair from Topshop, as seen on our very own columnist Monikh.
Style Notes: Finding a top that works for both winter and spring is no easy feat, but this one from H&M ticks that box. The long sleeves are ideal for cold arms and good for layering, but it's thin enough to be worn with sandals and a pair of loose trousers come spring or summer.
Style Notes: The moment the Who What Wear office spotted this dress, we knew it was going to be popular. This is the ideal all-weather dress. Wear with a roll-neck and boots for winter, and then with sandals for summer. It will also look great worn under a chunky knit.
Style Notes: We've not stopped banging on about this blazer. Yes, it is that good. And yes, everyone does look super chic in it.
