How You Can Buy Topshop's Amazing 2017 Collection Today

If you were ever in any doubt about the 1970s trend petering out, Topshop Unique's SS17 show today confirmed it. So long boho; the decade of the moment is, in fact, the eighties. The revival showed it's first signs during a rather decadent round of AW16 collections back in February but a week and a half into this fashion month and various key designer have put forward further proof that the era is en vogue for the long haul.

We've already briefed you on how to get started, but fashion time-warping aside, Unique is entirely rooted in the here and now, launching a selection of the catwalk's next-season items online (and in the special Spitalfields showspace pop-up store—go if you can!) a whole six months before you'd usually find them in store. So, in order to help you shop (we're supportive like that) here are the trends and pieces that caught our eye...

The Sling-backs

Perhaps the easiest route into this retro look, we will be prioritising cerise pink and zebra.

Officially the new leopard, zebra stripes stalked the Unique runway on cocoon coats, silky blouse and slit-to-there dresses.

Safety Pin Jewellery

Nothing sums up punk angst like a DIY piece of jewellery. But Topshop's versions twinkled with crystals and looked more for party girls than angry teens.

Frocks of every variety were a focal-point of the entire show, with Taylor Hill and her girl gang walking a finale in three particularly sassy numbers. Our first dibs go on the jet black beaded shift and the equally no-messing black vinyl number. LBD heaven.
