The New French Star Taking Over Haute Couture Fashion Week

This week is Haute Couture Fashion Week, which has seen the usual fashion stars reunite in Paris. And it has also been the making of a new street style darling: Tina Kunakey. The 21-year-old model and actress has attended shows before; however, the buzz circling Kunakey reminds me of when Cara Delevingne first hit the fashion week circuit in her zany trainers and slogan T-shirts.

This is one attendee who isn't wearing the same thing as everyone else. The model's father is from Togo and her mother is Italian, while Tina was born in Toulouse and grew up on the coast in Biarritz. She was spotted surfing when she was just 10 years old. She's starred in an A$AP Rocky video, been supported by every major label from Louis Vuitton to Dior and has a wardrobe that is truly headline making. Keep scrolling to see what we're talking about…

Style Notes: The key thing to know about Tina's style is that she loves bold accessories. At Fendi, she paired her pink pleated silk midi dress with a pair of knee-high metallic boots.

Style Notes: At Jean Paul Gaultier, Tina attended with her brother, Zakari Kunakey, and wore a pair of pinstriped short shorts with a striped top with a lace-up corset bodice.

Style Notes: Tina loves neon colours—at Balmain, she wore a black tweed skirt suit with lime-green piping.

Style Notes: At the Louis Vuitton show in June, Tina wore a white shirt open with a cropped bandeau top and denim shorts. She paired her beach-ready look with a pair of chunky boots that look more like apres-ski boots.

Style Notes: At Stella McCartney in March, Tina wore a green acid-wash jumpsuit unzipped to show her slogan T-shirt. She then contrasted her outfit with black stilettos and a structured top-handle handbag—a combination that in theory shouldn't make any sense. ■
