The Unlikely Accessory That Is Set to Be Big News in Six Months' Time

Ties might not be the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of womenswear accessories, but they definitely seem to be the outfit addition many designers are putting their bets on for next season. From Prada to Preen, neckties have appeared on runways across London and Milan fashion weeks, proving that this accessory will be prominent next season.

We saw ties paired with structured blazers, knitted vests and three-piece suits, as suiting styles and bookish Annie Hall–inspired attire filled the A/W runways. In recent memory, Blake Lively might have been the celebrity who has championed this look most, as the actress decided to exclusively wear suits and ties while promoting her film A Simple Favor back in 2018.

The accessory has also managed to permeate the street style set with showgoers in Copenhagen, New York and Milan showcasing the trend recently. It might not be the most expected womenswear trend, but if the last few weeks are any indication, ties are set to be everywhere in the next six months.
