Musical versions of classic teenage dramas are officially the new black—not long after the news that Clueless would be made into a musical comes the news that The O.C. will receive a song-based treatment as well.
Variety reports that the show and all its beloved characters—Seth, Summer, Ryan, Marissa, and friends—is being adapted into a musical screenplay by Jordan Ross, the same mastermind who turned Cruel Intentions into a musical not long ago. The show is already a work in progress, with the one-night-only production slated to hit a Los Angeles stage August 30.
