If you weren’t already familiar with The Frankie Shop at the beginning of this summer, you probably are by now after four weeks of fashion month. Not only have we been slightly obsessed with it here at Who What Wear for a while, but pretty much every insider we know now owns a piece from this boutique so you’ve probably seen it on Instagram whether you realised it or not.
Having started out in NYC, the brand opened a tiny Parisian bolthole in the Marais district in 2016 which has since been packed with European editors every time I’ve visited. To begin with, everyone was talking about its edit of contemporary It brands (you’ll find only the best bits from the likes of Ganni, Nanushka and Rachel Comey), but this season, its own label is really stealing the limelight.
We spotted so many fashion editors and influencers at the shows last month wearing Frankie Shop’s simple yet luxe designs and every one of them looked chic and rich (despite the rather reasonable price tags). The perfect oversized blazer? Check. The ultimate trench coat? Yep. Jumpsuit of dreams? You bet. Trust us when we say you need to check out its own brand when searching for autumn basics with a twist.
You’ll be pleased to know the brand is now stocked on Net-a-Porter, making it much more accessible—meaning you can avoid any surprise customs charges from its website or spend your Eurostar money on that perfect pleated skirt instead. Win-win. Also worth shouting about is that in the interest of shopping mindfully, it’s a label that only produces limited stock and doesn’t seem to pay attention to seasons, with classics being reworked and re-released throughout the year. These are pieces you’ll love for a long time.
