Summer is right around the corner, and while you might be busy gathering the coolest necessities for an ideal seasonal wardrobe, there's one thing we have a feeling you might be skipping over, and that's lingerie.

Lingerie might not be something you immediately consider as seasonal, but according to Lyn Lewis, Journelle's CEO; Helene Morris, founder and designer of Lonely; and Monica Mitro, the spokesperson for Victoria's Secret, it definitely is. They're firm believers in swapping out lingerie based on the season, and they're here to tell us exactly how to do it in 2018.

Ahead Lewis, Morris and Mitro dive deep into the summer lingerie trends that are blowing up. In typical lingerie fashion, some of the trends you'll see here will be new and exciting, while others are simply practical. According to the lingerie experts, both are important and necessary for building out the most festive and functional summer lingerie wardrobe possible.

Exaggerated Florals

"We're seeing a lot of exaggerated floral prints in lingerie this season, especially in silk, which creates a beautiful canvas. Some of my favorites include the Olivia von Halle Lila Gene pyjama set—the print looks like a flower garden at nighttime. For a lighter and more vivacious look, a fun one is the Journelle Underprotection Babette bra and brief." — Lewis

Unfussy Lace

"We've also been noticing a lot of unfussy lace in unique patterns—geometric or organic—or simply without too many ruffles added. This keeps it romantic but still modern. Some of our most popular styles include the Journelle Allegra balconette bra with a lace that looks a bit like a leaf, and the Great Eros Sonatta bralette, which features lace that has irregular interwoven stripes." — Lewis

Beyond the Bride

"White lingerie isn't just for brides anymore! Taking a cue from the runway and street style, we're seeing white everywhere, and it just feels so fresh. We're now offering one of our top Journelle collection bras, the Isabel, in white, and people are loving it because it has the same supportive construction but looks delicate in the summery shade. I also love the longer Samantha Chang sleep dress in cream and white." — Lewis

Strapless Refresh

"A final summer favorite—more of a staple than a trend—is a great strapless bra. You simply can't get through summer without a new one with fresh and snug elastic! Our office favorites and most recommended items include the Simone Perele Eden and the Triumph Spotlight. Neither will budge while you're dancing at summer weddings." — Lewis

Cheeky Briefs

"Cheeky briefs are presently some of our best-selling styles, and my favorite has to be our Patti French brief in teal. The lace border is so beautiful and delicate, and the light coverage is perfect for hot summer days." — Morris

All the Frills

"Frills are always fun for summer, and we’ve brought them into our lingerie detailing this season with a frill-bordered bra. The mesh frill is beautifully soft, so it doesn't compromise your comfort. It comes in powder blue and cactus green." — Morris
