23 Summer Sales Buys That Are Currently on My Holiday Packing List
I'm undecided as to whether I'll use a week off in August to book a last-minute deal and jet off for some sun, but that hasn't stopped me one jot from compiling a holiday packing list of dreams. The summer sales started quite early this season, which for many of us felt far too soon to even consider—we were only just getting used to the S/S 19 trends, let alone the thought of what to wear in 30-degree heat, should we be lucky enough to actual go on vacation this summer.
It can be easy to get carried away and put money down on things you'll never wear again, so the edit below is full of holiday-ready items that can still work back on home turf or are classic enough to be popped in that suitcase each and every time you head off to warmer climes. No more panic-buying a bikini at Heathrow. No more coming home and packing 50,000 sarongs away. This is a clever lineup of pieces that will serve you well, and they all come at a discount thanks to the last few days of the summer sales. Ready?
The perfect accompaniment to any given holiday look.
A slinky slip skirt can even look good with a bikini if you're heading to a beach party.
Knot it in your hair, tie around your waist, wear it as a top… a little scarf should always be in one's suitcase.
The kind of smart kaftan you can wear back home for a hot day in the office.
Red swimwear always looks striking. Matteau's shapes are classic and elegant.
Sarongs are back in fashion favour, as they come around every few summers.
If you don't have space in your case to take a jacket, think about using a kimono on chilly nights as it doubles up as a cover-up on the beach.
We've been wearing these safari-style shirts to the office, but they're great for touristing days.
Hunza G's super-stretchy bikinis are some of the best for staying in place.
A little warm layer for those late nights outdoors.
Next up, we're thinking about A/W 19 already…
