If you follow the fashion world closely, you’ve probably noticed that lately ladies like Eva Chen, Taylor Tomasi Hill, Miroslava Duma, and the subject of today’s story, Chriselle Lim of The Chriselle Factor, have more than great style in common: They all happen to be pregnant, too. Yes, Lim is expecting her first child, but don’t anticipate the Los Angeles-based blogger to sacrifice her signature look in response to a growing baby bump. Instead, she’s carrying on with her au courant fashion sense and tackling fall’s It-colour in this month’s Styled By series. Keep reading for four fresh ways to incorporate red into your wardrobe now!

Lim was quickly at home putting together looks in our fashion closet. After all, the influencer did get her start in the industry as a stylist and working as a fashion editor at GENLUX magazine. It wasn’t until she started documenting the projects she was styling and eventually her own personal outfits (after requests from her readers) that she decided to get into the business of blogging—a decision that would ultimately pay off.

Lim has all the makings of a successful fashion blogger—great personal style, an eye for all things chic, and a massive following—but her passion for directing and creating videos is what really sets her apart. “I started with a YouTube channel, where I uploaded curated and editorialised content,” Lim told us. “I did basic fashion tutorials, but eventually expanded into fashion films and brand campaigns.”
Describing her style as “feminine and sophisticated with a bit of edge,” Lim contrasted preppier pieces with leather accents, lending her first look an instant cool factor. “Leather shorts are a year-round must, at least in sunny LA,” she says.
Lim had no problem embracing the theme of this month’s story: red. “Red is a colour I find myself wearing often,” she says. “It has a way of giving me confidence and energy, whether it’s at work, a party, or even on a date.”

As she put together a polished day-to-night look, it was clear Lim knows how to dress around her growing baby bump. “I’ve been wearing a lot of cute dresses, as they are the most comfortable,” Lim says. “More often than not, I’ll tie a jacket around my waist (under the belly) to add some definition and shape to the outfit.” For Lim, it’s about emphasising the bump, not hiding it. “Whenever I’m wearing something that is body-conscious, I like to pair it with something a bit oversized to balance out the look,” Lim says.
“One of my favourite go-to combinations is pairing the colour red with leopard print. In my opinion, this is a perfect look for a fun night out with friends.”
Lim may spend a majority of her time shooting on location around Los Angeles, but she is no stranger to office life. “I don’t think I’ve ever had a single moment where I felt like I made it, but I will never forget the day I was able to get my own office space to run my business. It was validation that I was on the right track, doing the right thing.”

To navigate the tricky elements of 9-to-5 dressing, Lim stuck with classic silhouettes: a cable-knit sweater, wide-leg culottes, and red pumps. “I love how this look not only makes a statement, but is also professional enough to wear to a meeting,” Lim told us.
When asked how she juggles her hectic work schedule, Lim let us in on her morning secret. “Instead of ironing my clothes, I hang them in the bathroom while I’m taking a hot shower. It instantly steams out all the wrinkles.”
On Lim’s checklist for fall includes anything with a ‘60s vibe. “I am really excited about A-line dresses, swing coats, and ladylike structured purses,” she says. “I like to say that this is the perfect fall date night look. I’m completely obsessed with this red collared dress.”

A pair of buckled Jimmy Choo boots gives the outfit Lim’s preferred touch of edge.
Inspired by the likes of Jane Birkin and Audrey Hepburn, Lim understands the power of timeless fashion. “I believe that all woman should invest in a nice trench coat for fall,” she added. “It’s one of those pieces that can instantly make any outfit look classic and sophisticated.”
While one can safely argue that Lim has mastered the art of constructing covet-worthy outfits, the influencer is not afraid to admit her fashion missteps. “[I’ve had] one too many—baggy JNCO jeans and the no-eyebrow look!” Style blunders behind her, Lim is paving the way for some of her most exciting moments yet: a growing business and the adventures of motherhood. With so much to look forward to, you better bet we’ll be cheering her on every step of the way!
