5 Style Tricks All Busy Women Need in Their Lives
As editors at a digital fashion magazine, trust us: We know from being busy, overwhelmed, and under deadline. The breakneck pace of life (both online and off) is enough to leave our heads spinning. And yet somehow we're all supposed to step out every day looking polished and chic? It's a challenge even for the best of us.
Perhaps no one understands this better than our resident stylist Marissa Webb. She let us pick her brain about the styling tricks she uses to help her keep it together, despite a frenetic schedule.

Accessories play a big role on the days you're really on the run. I make sure I have my necklaces, bracelets, and the right bag. It adds that extra touch to an otherwise basic outfit.
Rosedale Jewellery Trillion Diamond Ring ($395)

A great blazer helps polish off almost any look. I often toss on my tuxedo blazer over a simple T-shirt-and-jeans look.
Banana Republic Navy Lightweight Wool Tuxedo Blazer ($143)
3.1 Phillip Lim Trompe L'oeil Tux Jacket ($348)

Every woman should have fashionable flats ready for those days when heels just aren't going to happen.
Michael Kors Julieta Suede Point-Toe Flats ($125)

Many of us don't have the luxury of styling a great look every day. So have your go-to items—such as your favourite pants, tops, and shoes for the season—always ready. Then invest in a few key pieces that you can mix and match in to achieve multiple looks.
Also, have a loose formula for the season. I think we all want to be flexible and experimental, but when time doesn't allow, know what's working for you. For example, my go-to formula right now is skinny on the bottom and loose on the top. Yours might be something slim on the top and easy on the bottom. Whatever it is, you'll know the items to grab and that, for the most part, the proportions will work.
Bailey 44 Port Elizabeth Crepe Culottes ($183)

One of my quick tricks for days I don't have time to fuss with my outfit is going with a monochromatic look. Even though it doesn't take much thought, it gives off the opposite impression. If you don't have every item matching, try matching your blouse to your blazer or your pumps to your pants.
Zara Embroidered Tunic ($80)
Zara Cut-Out Wide Culottes ($80)
Nicholas Mesh Mini Bustier ($198)
Nicholas Mesh Ball Skirt ($498)
Ganni Boxy Jumper with Mock Neck ($181)
Ganni Knitted Pencil Skirt ($163)
