Get Ready: These 6 Street Style Trends Will Be Everywhere This Fall

While we've already created a fall trend guide based on the runways, I decided to take it a step further and see which ones the street style set was happy to champion on their way to the fall/winter 2022 shows. Street style stars are always ahead of the game, so it's safe to say what they wore a few months ago will definitely make it to the masses this fall. Despite the different styles and aesthetics across cities, showgoers managed to incorporate similar trends into their cold-weather wardrobes. If a maximalist dresser from Copenhagen and a neutrals-only fashion girl from Paris can agree on a trend, then you know it's good.

There were plenty of noteworthy looks, but I'm especially interested in the trends that are already predicted to be on the rise for fall 2022. I invite you to keep scrolling to peruse the standout street style trends and shop them to prepare for the season ahead.

Barbie Pink

When I saw this look months ago, I was in awe, but I also had no idea how much this specific color would blow up. (Thanks, Valentino.) I certainly can't get enough of it, so bring on the pink overload.

Heavy-Duty Leather

The biker look is in full swing for 2022. Think leather jackets that are oversize and feature vintage coloring and cool hardware.

Maxi Hemlines

In case you haven't noticed, maxi hemlines have been a prevalent topic here at Who What Wear. If you're a fan, you'll be happy to know the trend's continuing into the fall. This doesn't mean we're leaving the midi and miniskirts behind—we're just making room for them all.

Oversize Bomber Jackets

We first mentioned the comeback of bomber jackets in the spring, but now that we're talking about fall, it's time to give them more wear time. Hello, jacket season!

Puddle Pants

I've pretty much replaced my everyday jeans with puddle pants, and the fashion set seems to agree. They're relaxed and easy to wear but always look elevated.

Animal Prints

I know what you're thinking. Animal prints never really go completely out of style, but the volume they're worn in does fluctuate slightly. For now, expect a lot of animal print in the near future.

Yusra Siddiqui is an editor who resides in New Jersey but bounces between the suburbs and NYC. (She's a Jersey girl at heart.) After interning at Who What Wear in 2019, she found her way to the team after graduating from LIM College in 2022 with a fashion media degree. She's also spent time writing and working for publications such as Fashionista, Coveteur, and Nylon, but she always knew that Who What Wear was where she was meant to be. When she's on the job, she's perusing runway shows, analyzing the latest thing fellow Gen Zers are up to on the internet, and sharing what she can about the modest-fashion market. You can also catch her dabbling in entertainment, talking about the costume choices of the latest Netflix series or diving deeper into how the plotline affects the viewers in a myriad of ways. Lastly, she likes to create content for Who What Wear's TikTok. Her personal time is spent doing similar but also different things—deep diving into almost every new TV show (Bridgerton, Gilmore Girls, and Stranger Things are favorites), planning her next local getaway (whenever that may be), and reading the latest Emily Henry or Sally Rooney novel in one sitting.
