The Female Street Style Photographers Who Are Changing the Game

We tend to have an unfettered inclination to admire and feature strong and talented women in the industry. And though many of said women are in front of the camera (bloggers, models, and so forth), today we're focusing in on the other side, spotlighting some of our favourite female street-style photographers.

Scroll down to learn about these skilled women—and if you're a photographer, be sure to tell us in the comments below!

Vanessa Jackman

One of the very first street style photographers whose images we featured on Who What Wear, the former Australian lawyer turned London local captures some of the most stunning off-duty models and fashion insiders in the industry. Shooting with film, her images always skew on the side of soft and ethereal. If you're not familiar, be sure to check out her eponymous website.

Candice Lake

Another Australian native, Candice Lake began her career in the fashion industry as a model. She was discovered while studying to become a lawyer, and went on to work with the likes of Steven Meisel and Bruce Weber. After that stint, she decided to take on photography, and the rest is history. Though you can see her well-curated street style images on her blog, you've likely spotted her gracing the other side of the camera during recent fashion weeks.

Acielle of Style Du Monde

The Belgium-based photographer travels the world to procure a visually enthralling presentation of stylish fashion-goers. Aside from the Pin-worthy outfit ideas we get from visiting Style Du Monde, we also love that she identifies her subjects, making it all the more easier to develop girl crushes galore.

Tamu McPherson of All the Pretty Birds

You've no doubt heard about and seen McPherson. With an intoxicatingly pleasant smile and street style photographs that plop you right down into the moment, the Jamaican native (who also started as a lawyer...we're seeing a trend here) began her work in 2006, and contributes to publications such as Glamour, Harper's Bazaar, and Refinery 29. Be sure to visit All the Pretty Birds if you haven't already.

Jessie Bush of We the People

Hailing from New Zealand, this pink-haired beauty (though she may have recently switched to platinum) captures prominent fashion figures on the streets. Her subjects often include Yasmin Sewell, Leandra Medine, and Emmanuelle Alt, and so on. A trip to her site We the People never fails to impress and inspire.

Hanneli Mustaparta

Though much of our Mustaparta coverage is dedicated to what she's actually wearing (damn, that girl's got style), we'll never forget her roots. In 2009 she began her website, simply enough dubbed Hanneli, where she posted images of her sightings as a stylist in New York City. As the site evolved so did the images and now it's a glorious mix of street style photographs as well as self portraits.

Sara of Collage Vintage

Sara of Collage Vintage caught our eye a couple of years ago, and we've never looked back. She captures some of the most stylish people on the planet, and manages to grab hold of their attention in such a way that results in a lively, energetic photo. If you want to see what's happening on the streets during fashion month, you've found your girl.
