#TuesdayShoesday: The Return of the Noughties Square Toe

If Phoebe Philo introduces a shoe trend at Céline—no matter how wild, obscure or unlikely—then you know it's only a matter of time until wider adoption becomes inevitable. We are talking, of course, about the resurrection of the square toe. Last seen with pinstripe tailoring in the noughties, it was then spearheaded in fashion circles by Prada. The flat, sharp cut was re-introduced on the runway last season and quickly stepped into by fashion editors, but it was too great a debate to become an instant, widespread smash. The effect has now filtered down almost a year later, with new versions—both boots and shoes—coming in thick and fast at Uterque, Marni and more.

This one new silhouette looks more fashion forward than Solange Knowles in a time machine, so you'll no doubt want to shop our favourite styles right now. Keep scrolling, ladies…
