These 23 Zara Items Will Spice Up My Summer Basics
Although it sometimes feels like I have nothing to wear, I'll admit that my wardrobe consists of the classic foundations—e.g., good denim, basic tees, etc. All that's missing is some added spice, aka statement-making pieces that can elevate my staples so that they feel extra special and give me some more styling variety. Below, I present my current shopping list of cool and fun pieces that I'm eyeing up at Zara right now. I've turned towards bright saturated colours, such as pinks, oranges and rust reds, as well as vintage-inspired stripes and scarf prints. I'm also excited about the texture and proportion play, as below you'll find dramatic maxi skirts, oversized shirts and unusual cut-out detailing to add a point of interest. Keep scrolling to see the buys that are adding some much-needed flavour to my spring wardrobe.
This feels like Zara's answer to Jacquemus's F/W 21 pink midi skirt. I plan on wearing this with an abundance of crop tops.
Oversized shirts are already part of my spring wardrobe, but this shade of orange really steps it up a notch.
I know pool parties are at least a few months away, but when they arrive, I'll be ready.
This top is relatively simple, but the sweetheart neckline really sets it apart.
This could function as a swimsuit cover-up, but if you're not afraid of risks, it could also function as a cool top.
My basic jeans aren't cutting it for me, so I'm opting for denim with noticeable details.
I'm so into the elegant round neckline of this blazer—it feels like I should be drinking espresso at a Parisian café.
These would look amazing with a cropped white tank and trainers.

There, she worked on a multitude of projects, including styling inbook feature stories for New York magazine's print issue, writing and pitching market stories for The Cut, and serving as fashion lead for The Cut's branded content. Aside from her duties as a fashion market editor, Brown is also a freelance stylist and writer, working on national print and video commercial campaigns for Sephora, The Independent, and Cadillac. Her bylines also include Harper's Bazaar, Vox, and The New York Times. But once the computer goes down and the emails turn off, she's likely eating her way through Koreatown, hunting down vintage furniture, scoping out new outrageous nail designs to try, or taking a hot cycling class.
