The #GirlBoss author and founder of e-commerce site Nasty Gal, Sophia Amoruso, is handing over her title as CEO to the company’s president Sheree Waterson. Although Amoruso is giving up the official boss title, she will continue to oversee the creative and brand marketing teams as executive chairman.
Amoruso said in interview with Re/code that while she felt "really capable of leading our customer,” she knew the company needed a CEO with exceptional operational skills and the ability to take Nasty Gal to the next level. The decision to select Waterson as the new CEO was ultimately one Amoruso made on her own.
"Sheree brings a wealth of experience in both business and leadership that will help guide us into the next phases of our growth. In the past 11 months alone, we have already seen the impacts of Sheree's strategic thinking and approach in our product offering and experience. She has established herself as an inspiring leader here at Nasty Gal and I am confident in her ability to execute on our vision," Amoruso said. For more, head over to Re/code.
