This Coat Is an Unexpected Fashion Favourite

The lines are officially, and happily, blurred between the catwalk and the streets. There's no urban wardrobe staple too gangster for the runway, according to the A/W 15 collections. We're totally adept at wearing premium trainers with our chichi dresses, silk bomber jackets are a key piece on the FROW and sports luxe has been a mainstream trend for a fashion age.

Fendi upped its street cred for A/W 15 with statement down-filled puffa jackets and coats that wouldn't be out of place on the ski slopes of Aspen, nor on a Yeezy Season 1 enthusiast. We're literally holding our breath for a Kardashian to reach for the Dion Lee quilted satin coat and it's a matter of time before London's mercury falls so low, everyone starts wearing down-filled cover-ups. The December issue of Vogue declares that a 'puff piece' is on the team's wish-list. So, what's the fuss about? Simply that we never thought that we'd be placing the following words in the same sentence: shell down-filled coats are in vogue. Would you look at that?

Fendi A/W 15

Catwalk Notes: Matching shearling boots and handbag? Check. Supersize down coat? You bet. Fendi took the streetwise puffa silhouette to new extremes. Warning: This look is only for the bold at heart.

Fendi A/W 15

Catwalk Notes: With architectural panache and an ultra-cosy lining, you'll feel like you're still warm in bed while heading out into the big smoke. Style it just like the runway look with a retro pencil skirt and directional leather ankle boots.

Dion Lee A/W 15

Catwalk Notes: The ladylike version of the down-filled puffa has landed. Look no further for an evening coat that'll keep out the cold and earn you a constant stream of high-fives for style. Yes.

Ermanno Scervino A/W 15

Catwalk Notes: A black turtleneck, super-long leather belt and classic black knee-high boots make an urbane backdrop for a statement Ermanno Scervino skirt that spells après-ski chic.

On Sarr-Jamois: Fendi bag; Gucci shoes.

Street Style Notes: Give your down-filled coat the off-duty styling treatment with bright accessories packed with personality.
