Much has been made of Caitlyn Jenner's outfit choices, whether it's what she's wearing to run errands or something more glamorous for the red carpet. Because she is arguably the most famous transgender person in the world, many designers and stylists are dying to work with her in some capacity. But naturally, she's only opting for the best of the best, and that recently meant calling in some guidance from Patricia Field, the esteemed costume designer of Sex and the City.
In a new interview with the Independent, Field reveals that she opened her SoHo boutique early a few weeks ago to stage a private styling session with Jenner. It turns out a mutual friend had introduced them. "I'd never met her," Field explained. "I quickly had to get a little feel for her, but my friend was very helpful in that sense. We were trying on clothes and seeing what she liked and felt good in. It was a great experience for me—she's very open, down-to-earth, appreciative. Really, what she's doing is quite a thing—she's handling it beautifully."
The experience, which was filmed for Jenner’s television show I Am Cait, resulted in a bolder-than-usual look for the star: a sequined miniskirt that Jenner wore right out of the store. “What an amazing experience to meet and spend time with Patricia,” Jenner reflected on the show. “Over the years she has been very supportive and committed to making a difference for the transgender community. That to me is amazing.” Talk about the perfect partnership!
