Following By Malene Birger's spring 2017 runway show in Copenhagen, a select group of editors, influencers and the brand's closest friends were invited back to their HQ (a veritable BMB mansion, if you will) for cocktails and a swish dinner. We had the chance to access one of Who What Wear UK's most featured girls—Pernille Teisbaek. We managed to contain our intrusive nosey-parker questions (seriously, just how did she look so good at our hotel's breakfast buffet without a scrap of makeup on?) and asked something nitty-gritty in terms of fashion instead. It's something we've often wondered about cool Scandi girls, as they are famed for their excellent and unwaveringly understated taste—does she think there is anything a one of her ultra-hip kind simply wouldn't wear?
"That is a very difficult question to answer because it is a very personal matter," explains Pernille. "Scandi girls would probably never wear a full-on floral ensemble, but instead add a minimalistic and causal element to the look."

On Pernille Teisbaek: Loewe Embellished Printed Virgin Wool Sweater (£495); Saks Potts skirt; Vetements boots.
We imagine this must have been on Pernille's mind the day before when she chose a floral-print skirt to be worn unexpectedly with a Loewe-motif sweater and Vetements boots. This isn't a girl who often opts for bloom-prints, so we're happy to take the lesson on board—and when you look at this outfit, it makes a lot a sense.
So here are some floral and non-floral combinations we think tap into this particular Scandi sensibility. Go through the gallery below to shop them for yourself.
The colours on this feel rather Scandi already.
Knitted trousers are so getting their moment in the spotlight for winter.
The jacquard finish of this skirt makes it very luxe.
There are no Scandi rules against double pink, right?
This could also be happily layered with a tee.
The faded-out khaki hue gives this vintage appeal.
Such extravagant pants do benefit from a casual top.
Always have… loved florals?
Consider this your canvas for additional flora and fauna.
Just the kind of bouquet we'd love to carry.
