The 7 Lesser-Known Scandi Brands I Really Want to Tell You About

This year has definitely been all about Scandi style. Previously, it was New York, London, Paris and Milan that drew the attention of the world's media, but this fashion week saw Copenhagen quietly claim the crown of most fashionable capital with its roll call of cool brands and enviable It girls (we're looking at you, Pernille Teisbaek, Hanna Stefansson, Emili Sindlev and Nnenna Echem).

Ganni might still be the headline act in the Scandi fashion stakes, however, there are plenty of lesser-known labels waiting in the wings with equally enviable offerings. From Stand's personality-packed teddy coats to Brogger's artistic blazers, these brands might offer varying aesthetics yet they're all united by their love of wardrobe staples with a twist. The result is easy-to-wear pieces with maximum impact. Scroll down to discover the seven lesser-known Scandi brands I'm loving right now.

Founded in 2014, Stand was originally created to fill a gap in the market for high-end leather pieces at accessible price points. Since then it has expanded into other fabrics, including suede, wool and cashmere, and its collection of vibrant coats has become a permanent fixture in the wardrobes of the fashion elite.

Samsøe & Samsøe is one of the older offerings in our Scandi brand lineup, and since its inception in 1993, it has been a go-to for cool Scandi-inspired separates. This season, my eye is on the Fair Isle blue knit, which would look so chic over a midi skirt and knee-high boots.

Sania D'mina caused a stir when her distinctive sage-coloured slingbacks were papped on fashion's finest at Copenhagen Fashion Week before the brand had even launched. The Elena shoe style now comes in a range of colourways, including white leather and black suede.

Launched in Copenhagen in 2006, Stine Goya is known for its unique print designs and practical approach to fit. The brand's dresses have been particularly stunning this season. We love how the Freesia ruffled midi dress can be dressed up or down for everything from work to winter weddings.

Brogger

Brøgger is the Scandinavian label championing statement-making, luxury outerwear. Founded by Danish duo, Julie Brøgger and Linn Norström Weile, the brand expanded its A/W 18 collection to include dresses, tops and knitwear in addition to its signature jackets, coats and suits. I'm obsessed with the brand's ruffle-trimmed blazer, which would elevate a pair of straight-leg jeans.

Worn by the likes of Alexa Chung and Gigi Hadid, Saks Potts has garnered a dedicated celeb following thanks to its edit of cult, vintage-inspired coats. The brand's Dorthe jacket and Foxy Belted Leather Coat have both been a hit this season (now all I have to do is to save up for one).
