Personally, I am so pleased that cardigans have regained their fashionable status in recent years, as they've become one of the most versatile additions to my wardrobe. I've come to rely on cardigans for this awkward in-between weather. For days when the sun peaks through, having a cardigan to hand will save you when the evening chill sets in. Better still, for your travel temperature dilemmas, you head out for the day wrapped up to avoid the autumn chill, but when you take your first step into the tube station, you immediately regret every single layer. That's the beauty of a cardigan. Wear it done all the way up or open when you're warmer. Throw one over a dress, wear on its own with tailored trousers, or take note from Stevens, and pair it with classic denim.
