Pom-pom shoes are a bit silly, and we'll be the first to admit that. Not exactly born out of practicality, they are, however, seriously fun. While they were a bit hit on the catwalk a few seasons ago (Gucci, we're looking at you), they've cemented themselves as a constant presence on the street style circuit, as well as among a few A-listers. Most important of all celebrities to note is a really double whammy of shoe greatness: The Olsen Twins are into pom-poms. Yes, the girls who tend to favour minimalism these days are even getting on board. But when you're wearing a plain outfit, a decorative pair of heels is a fast-track to looking a little more adventurous. So don't be mistaken in thinking that this joyful footwear trend is only for kooky ladies.

Just because the temperature might have dropped doesn't mean you have to forgo fun footwear. Instead, try adding a pair of jazzy socks or delve into this season's many statement tights—hosiery solves everything in this country.
