It's not often that I become singularly obsessed with one person's style, but this year, one woman's outfit choices have captured my imagination like no other. She is a Scandi girl—and not only that. She's a vintage-dealing Scandi girl. The dream.
Pernille Rosenkilde carries off the vintage-meets-contemporary-trends look like no other influencer I've seen on Instagram. As a commercial director of a magazine and a vintage dealer, she is perfectly positioned to merge the two worlds, which is something I am constantly aspiring to do with my own wardrobe. The result is a beautifully eclectic style that packs personality without feeling contrived and effortlessly blends high—think feather-trimmed jackets—with low—think denim dungarees and dad trainers.
In a landscape of identikit style, Pernille stands out with her originality and evident creativity—something which, I believe, is easier to achieve when you shop vintage. So this spring, I'm hoping to be more Pernille, and I think you should too. I've scrolled through her feed and rounded up the outfits that I've particularly fallen for over the last few months to show you how to re-create the looks using both new and second-hand pieces. Scroll down to see and shop her outfits.
Style Notes: A pussy-bow blouse makes for the ideal foil for a pair of white denim dungarees. Just add gold hoops and brogues to complete the look.
Style Notes: Pink has never looked more appealing, especially when it comes in the form of a clean-lined suit. Make like Pernille and style yours with dad sneakers and a white tee.
Style Notes: A statement feather-trimmed jacket is surely the easiest way to elevate your basics. Case in point: Pernille's fab vintage jacket adds personality to a pair of tailored trousers and a white tee.
Style Notes: While we patiently wait for summer to arrive, we'll be adapting our warm-weather dresses with a chunky knit and trainers.
Style Notes: Feather-trim trousers are my fantasy party look, but Pernille manages to make them work for the daytime with Converse and a Fair Isle knit jumper. A 10/10 from us.
