8 Perfect Autumn Outfits Our Parisian Fashion Friends Have Worn This Week
What goes through a French girl's mind when picking out an outfit? What tenets does she stand by in her search for the perfect capsule wardrobe? Honestly, there are so many questions that spring to mind when we browse the feeds of our favourite Parisian fashion influencers. Forget the illusive je ne sais quoi—we want to know exactly what it is that makes these girls tick, and, ultimately, how we can re-create their enviable style.
"Parisian women are all about staples that they'll keep forever because they know what shapes or colours fit them. However, they don't shy away from a funky touch here and there: a pair of statement shoes, an extravagant piece of costume jewellery or a flashy print," explains Ellie from Slip Into Style. "What I'm into right now are furry slippers like the Birkenstock Arizona, as they're a more affordable alternative to the Celine ones. I've also had my eyes on the furry slippers by Sleeper for a closed-toed option."
London-born Parisienne Marissa Cox from Rue Rodier, meanwhile, swears by the perfect pair of jeans: "I always advise to wear a straight-leg cut as these will create a more flattering silhouette, or even with a slight flare á la Jeanne Damas, as they'll slim wider hips. I also keep skinny pairs to wear under knee-high boots." And how about something for the new season? "Look to leopard print to update your style for winter and treat it like a neutral," says Cox. We couldn't have said it better ourselves.

Style Notes: Thought that your slip dress had no milage in winter? Think again. Réalisation's zodiac dress feels wintery when paired with boots and a leather jacket. Layer over a white roll-neck for extra warmth.

Style Notes: Sometimes you can't go wrong with the classics, as proven by Marie Dewet, who mixes up vintage with new season staples in this failsafe winter ensemble. Take note of her kick-flare jeans for a universally flattering fit.

Style Notes: Ellie from Slip Into Style demonstrates the power of a well-chosen accessory. By adding a dramatic waist-cinching belt to a midi skirt and jumper, this makes for a ruway-worthy look.
