As much as we follow and adore all the world's most fashion-forward ladies, there's one who seems incapable of a misstep. Olivia Palermo, who turned 29 this weekend, is essentially infallible.
Glamour celebrated the style star's birthday by taking a look back at her top fashion tips, which she initially revealed to U.K. fashion site look. There are some real gems in here (read: all of them), so we had to share. Of particular note: Palermo discloses the number one, biggest fashion faux pas.

Wear colour when the weather's bad.
"I always say to wear a little bit more colour in the winter. Take basics, and layer and play," Palermo advises. "For summer, all you need is a great dress."
It's not about how much money you spend.
"It's not about how much something costs," Palermo says. "I always like adding a bit of high street to things."
Not dressing appropriately for your body is the biggest fashion faux pas.
"The biggest fashion faux pas I see is when women don't wear the right shape for their frame," she says. "A little nip of tailoring can make all the difference."
Fake it 'til you make it.
?"Confidence has nothing to do with physical appearance, but looking your best will make you feel your best," she recommends. "Wear something that makes you feel amazing, regardless of trends, and take your time with makeup and hair. Confidence is a self-fulfilling prophecy, so keep telling yourself how great you are."
Dress for you—not your man.
She and model husband Johannes Huebl get ready separately, and she only asks his opinion once she's put her full look together. "We grow together," she says, meaning that sometimes she heeds his opinion—but she sometimes ignores it in favour of her own thoughts.
Accessories are made for mixing and matching.
"I play around with it, and I love to mix colours. I don't have rules like 'You can't wear silver and gold,'" she said. "I have a gold bracelet my mum gave me that I wear almost every day, [and then, if you] have a great cocktail ring or a statement piece you can throw on and play it up."
Be open to getting inspiration from everywhere and everything.
It's not all about New York, London, Milan, and Paris! "You can really be inspired by every single thing," she says.
