The streets of New York City have spoken: Autumn outfits are a go! It's been exciting to see fashion month kick off IRL once more, and while the runways have wowed us (Proenza! Rodarte! Tom Ford!), it's the sidewalk scene that has us reaching into the depths of our closets to rediscover some old gems for the new season. And while the weather across the pond might be stuck in summer, the mood and outfit choices have been shifting towards autumn in subtle ways: a fabric option here, a colour there, the addition of a smart layering piece or the switching up of a silhouette.

But considering autumn has just begun, we're focusing on the outfits that help us segue from lightweight summer style to up-to-date autumn looks. As photographer Jade Belmes snapped photos of the street-style scene, a handful of easy trends began to emerge.
