Every Minimalist Influencer We Know Has Bought These £25 Muji Sneakers

Muji is one of those shops I shouldn't be allowed to walk past. Because whenever I do, I can't resist buying a plain brown notebooks and a super-thin pen. It's every stationery lover and minimalist's dream. But did you know that the pared-back shop founded in Japan in the '80s also does a great line in clothes? Right now, minimalist Instagrammers are loving the brand's £25 sneakers.

The plain white low-top shoes are getting a lot of love, appearing on the feet of women like Brittany Bathgate to Lindsey Holland. So far, we've only seen them being styled with jeans, but these are exactly the kind of sneakers you want to pack for your holiday capsule wardrobe to pair with a summer dress (or just wear during the weekend with a boilersuit).

This sudden bout of popularity shouldn't surprise us—especially with the popularity of the Veja's white trainers. However, up until recently, fashion has been all about over-the-top sneakers. From Balenciaga's sold-out Triple S's and Louis Vuitton's Archlights to Chanel's chunky shoes and Ganni's platform sneakers, "ugly" trainers have reigned supreme for quite some time.

Traditional sports brands have backed this look as well, with Nike's Air Monarch sneakers gaining popularity (and their own Instagram account). However, it definitely appears that tastes might be on the turn. While we're not expecting a trend explosion of Stan Smith proportions, I can imagine that there will be more love for less-showy sneakers like these ones from Muji, as they'll remain stylish, whatever the trend.

Style Notes: A trench, a pair of jeans and some white socks looks so cute.

Style Notes: Another way to style these white sneakers is to wear them with ecru jeans and a white tee.
