It’s hard to write a piece about style on screen without making at least one Devil Wears Prada reference. The Collection makes this easy, as it is set in a fashion house in post-war Paris and stars Meryl Strep’s daughter Mamie Gummer. The eight-part series is the first UK drama on Amazon Prime, and is produced by the team behind War and Peace. Bring on the Dior-like silhouettes, pearl jewellery and dreamy atelier backdrops.

The 1970s have had a big comeback of late, and you can find plenty of flares inspo in Vinyl. Olivia Wilde and Juno Tempo wear '70s-siren staples from disco jumpsuits to folky kaftans. Yet another reason why you should invest in Gucci’s vibrant pussy-bow blouses and vintage prints.
Costume designer John Dunn, who worked on the ever so fashionable Mad Men, talks us through the inspiration.

Director Baz Lurhmann’s first television series, The Get Down, charts the beginnings of hip-hop, following a group of teens (including Jaden Smith) in the Bronx. And yes, Lurhamann’s wife, Oscar-winning costume director Catherine Martin, is attached to the project as a co-executive producer. The two minute, 58-second trailer is an explosion of candy-coloured disco suits, satin bombers, flared jeans, suede Pumas and halter necks. At the very least, it’ll make you want to buy a denim A-line skirt…
