What’s the key to finding something expensive-looking on the high street?
It’s about good design, be it a lovely print or making sure the fit is just right. If I really love something but the fit isn’t right, I sometimes have it slightly altered, which I find makes it feel and look more expensive.
Which three stores do you always turn to, and why?
I shop at ASOS using Klarna if I want to try a new trend without breaking the bank. Mango is great for standout accessories and tailoring (favourites include over-the-top diamanté earrings and a velvet bag embroidered with gold stars—people always ask me where it’s from). & Other Stories, meanwhile, is my go-to for basics, including denim, T-shirts and knitwear.
Is there anything, in particular, you’d rather save up and spend money on rather than buying cheaply?
For me, having a good-quality coat is essential. It should last forever if looked after properly. Try looking for one at the end-of-season sales, and then bring it out the following winter.
