Diane Sawyer’s special interview with Bruce Jenner on ABC—in which the former Olympian came out as transgender—has been steadily making waves around the country, and the latest reaction is particularly heartwarming. When asked by Sawyer what he was looking forward to most about his transition from male to female, Jenner responded, “To be able to have my nail polish on long enough that it chips off.”
Well, a group of men working at radio station KIISC1065 in Sydney, Australia are in full support of that desire, and to prove it they’ve shared photos of their own painted nails on Twitter with the hashtag #PaintYourNailsForBruce. Making it especially easy for others to join in on the cause, they set up a station at their studio where men could stop by to get manicures for free.
Naturally, the whole thing went viral, and it would be easy to write it off as purely a PR sunt. The fact of the matter is, though, there are many other ways to get attention, and it’s hard to imagine anyone supporting such a controversial (but worthy) cause like this if their hearts aren’t really in it. Bravo, we say!
