Meghan Markle Wore the Chic Shorts Trend Fashion People Prefer to Cutoffs

Meghan Markle's visit to New York continues, and her latest look is quite a departure from her previous two (check those out here and here), although all are characteristically polished. One of Markle's outings this week was for lunch with legendary feminist pioneer Gloria Steinem. Markle opted for a seasonally appropriate shorts outfit that reflected both the weather and the current trends. (NYC isn't spared from the heatwave—it's been in the 90s this week.)

While denim shorts (specifically cutoffs) are likely to always be a summer wardrobe staple, fashion people have been favoring another shorts style as of late: longer, tailored shorts that look 10 times more polished than denim ones. Markle certainly got the memo and opted for front-pleat navy shorts neatened even further with a tan belt, which she paired with a white shirt, a brown clutch, and matching suede pumps.
