I'm picky when it comes to sale shopping, mostly because I'm overly cautious about being swayed into buying items just because they have a discounted price. That's why my top sale tip is to always focus on timeless classics or standout pieces that truly bring you joy as well as items you've had on your wish list for a long time. The high street can sometimes come through, particularly for pieces like outerwear and denim. But, personally, I use sales as an opportunity to save on luxury items that really elevate your wardrobe—a tip I learnt from the best fashion editors out there. You're guaranteed to be getting excellent quality and you can usually bag a really good deal Enter: Matches' end of summer flash sale, which is only on from now until August 16th.

Now, we've already had the big early summer sales from most retailers this year, including Matches. But I find these smaller, one-off sales with a short time frame to be much more fruitful. They usually have a tighter edit of top-selling buys rather than all the season's cast offs. So, believe me when I say my heart skipped a beat when I saw an alert for Matches' latest summer sale this week, with some seriously good discounts up to 50% off (don’t forget to check out our Matches promo codes too). At first glance, I knew this was going to be good—my fellow editors and I even exchanged very excitable Slack messages in disbelief at some of the pieces, including so many that are on our current wish lists.

Now that I've scrolled through everything (yep, everything), I can tell you with confidence that this sale is seriously worth your time, whatever you're shopping for right now. There's autumn-ready knits, classic Raey jeans (fashion people swear by them), timeless designer bags and some gorgeous workwear staples to give you that fresh start feeling we all crave come September. There's also plenty of pretty dresses to see you through the end of summer and help you get prepped for autumn and (dare I say it) party season.

To help save you time and energy, I've pulled together a concise list of 25 editor-approved pieces you'll never regret investing in below. Just remember, you've only got until next Wednesday (16th August) to take advantage of these deals!
