This Is Where I've Just Found So Many New Responsible Brands

There's no denying that many of us are currently trying to find a way to operate a little more sustainably on a day-to-day basis. In fact, Jess Christie, chief brand officer at MATCHESFASHION, explained, "Nearly 70% of our customers say that they try to live their lives as sustainably as possible."

With a statistic like that, it's hardly surprising that MATCHESFASHION has just launched a Responsible Edit, which aims to let customers quickly and easily shop a curated range of brands that prioritise sustainability. As a result of two years of work and research, the Responsible Edit comprises products that match the requirements of one (or more) of MATCHESFASHION's four sustainable pillars: Artisans, People, Charity and Materials.

The Artisan category covers brands where 50% or more of the production team is made up of artisans or craftspeople for either all the collection or a specific collection. The People category highlights brands that promote fair work environments and fair-trade practises and ensure workers are paid a certified living wage. In the Charity section, you'll find brands that either maintain long-term partnerships with charities, nonprofits, social enterprises or have created their own programs. And finally, the Materials category showcases products that contain more than 50% lower-impact materials like recycled, vintage, plant-based or organic fabrics.

Each category has its own section online, allowing customers to shop depending on which cause is most important to them. So whether you're focused on fair work environments or highly conscious of the use of sustainable materials, MATCHESFASHION has you covered.
