The wait is finally over! Ever since Levi’s announced its collaboration with NET-A-PORTER earlier this year, we’ve patiently waited to shop the limited edition 501 CT jeans. So what does the CT stand for, and why are they so special? We’ll let Levi’s head of design Jonathan Cheung explain: “For years, people have taken the iconic 501 and customised them by getting on a sewing machine and giving the legs a little taper. With the 501 CT, we’ve done that work for you,” he says.
The exclusive jeans were designed by NET-A-PORTER’s denim buyer, Octavia Bradford, and Levi’s, after noticing the iconic 501 making a huge comeback as a street trend. Made at Eureka, Levi’s Innovation lab in San Francisco, each customised and tapered pair takes around 72 hours to create. As far as sizing goes, the 501 CT can be worn true-to-size; or, for a super slim fit that sits higher on the waist, size down, and for a baggier more relaxed fit, size up.
