In an oversaturated world of celebrities doing crazy things and pop culture figures trying to constantly top themselves, it seems impossible that someone like Kim Kardashian could continue to be as shocking as she is. And yet, somehow, shocking is what she's best at. Somehow we can't stop clicking her name. Case in point: this brilliant new Paper magazine cover.
The New York-based magazine's Winter issue features Kardashian on the cover in a floor-length black gown, shot by French photographer JeanPaul Goude to recreate his iconic shot of a model opening a bottle of champagne onto her own rear end—all situated above the words "Break the Internet: Kim Kardashian." And that's exactly what the two Paper covers intend to do—and yes, there are two.
The first cover, described above, is significantly less gratuitous than the second, which features Kardashian exposing her bare bum as she looks coyly over her shoulder. If anything is going to break the internet, after all, it's going to be Kim Kardashian's bum. The full issue comes out Thursday, and we all wait with bated breath to see the inside images.

"[There was] much less [retouching] than people think," Paper magazine editorial director Mickey Boardman tells Yahoo! Style. "That’s really what she looks like. That’s her. I would say it’s the normal amount of retouching that’s on a normal cover.”
“I looked back at a clip of 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' last season and I was really heavily pregnant, I was about eight months pregnant, and I looked at my sisters and said, ‘You guys, when I feel like I have my body back, I’m doing a nude shoot,'" Kardashian told Australian talk show The Project. “When I got the opportunity to work with the photographer Jean-Paul Goude, who photographs everyone nude, thats his thing, I was so honored and excited to work with him, because he is a legend. And for me that was something I knew I wanted to do to make myself feel confident."
“Kim’s attitude was ‘if we’re gonna do it, let’s really go there.’ And it was her idea to take off her clothes and show more than her butt," Boardman tells Yahoo! Style. "But we [Paper] didn’t say ‘let’s do a cover with your butt hanging out.’ She said she was willing to take her clothes off and one thing lead to another. The make-up artist [put the oil on her butt]. It was someone who she works with a lot, so she felt comfortable."
"To each his own, as a role model I’m not saying anyone else should do that, but for me, I did it as an art project that was going to make me feel confident and feel good. And It taught me to do what you want to do," Kardashian says. "Everyone should do what they they are comfortable with, and I'm never one to preach, but I felt really positive and really good about myself. I love the photos, I did it for me, and I hope other people like them."
