While we are often in awe of the sparkling crowns and diamond-landed tiaras Kate Middleton wears to royal events, today the Duchess of Cambridge sported a very different kind of hair accessory. Spotted arriving in Dublin, Middleton was seen sporting a very on-trend, influencer-approved velvet padded headband.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are set to complete a royal tour of Ireland, and for their first public appearance, Middleton opted to wear the of-the-moment accessory alongside an entirely green tonal ensemble, which consisted of a Catherine Walker coat, Alessandra Rich dress and L.K.Bennett clutch bag.
Headbands have become very fashionable of late, with raised, padded iterations gaining particular popularity after Prada debuted a series on its S/S 19 runway. Since then, the item has been spotted everywhere from the high street to the red carpet and now even on royalty.
Interestingly enough, this isn’t the first time Middleton has trialled the trend. Back in December, the duchess wore a padded Zara headband while attending the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance and prior to that also wore a red braided headband while attending the christening of Prince Archie.
