We may have been cheek-to-cheek with the models in the most intimate seating plan known to man, but that's all the better to see J.W.Anderson's latest creations. Not that we'd ever take our eyes off the prize, but today's runway show (A/W 17) just presented quite the shopping list.
We heard more than one fashion stylist muttering "must have that furry jacket" as they exited the building. This editor rather fancied the marabou-trimmed balloon skirts, a green knitted asymmetric dress and the idea of expertly layering a trench coat à la Anderson. But put the clothes to one side for a second because Jonathan also had sneakers on display. High-top dégradé ones at that. So, lace-up high-tops received the all-clear from one of the most discerning designers in town. And that wasn't all. Next up is the new iteration of his most popular It bag, the Pierce. In six months' time, these will take a turn for the decorative. Either rendered in suede and practically vibrating with long swooshing tassels or covered in velvet and featuring knotted black ribbons, our appetite for maximalist handbags cannot be sated until we have one (or both).
