There’s nothing we love more than getting a glimpse of an exclusive high-street capsule collection. Luckily for us, this weekend marks the release of H&M’s latest edit. Composed of 11 preppy pieces, it’s perfect for topping up your arsenal of grab-and-go weekend staples. Our favourite pieces include a pair of checked trousers (essential for autumn), a white cricket-style knit (which we’ll throw over a silky slip skirt), and a pair of “go with everything” black skinny jeans. Sunday brunch style, here we come. The campaign is fronted by stunning Brit singer-songwriter Izzy Bizu, and we got the chance to ask the up-and-coming star a few questions about style and shopping on the high street. Scroll down to find out what she said; then shop the collection.
Do you have a first H&M shopping memory?
There used to be an H&M on my way home from work, and I would swing by sometimes. I’d buy some lingerie or cute lipsticks. Those things can be expensive, but H&M make it so accessible!
What do you always buy from H&M?
I like the blue, white and red sweatshirts, lingerie and berets.
Is there a trick to finding affordable pieces that look expensive?
If you wear quality clothes, you should be able to make an affordable outfit look elegant. If they don’t fit, you can always tailor them. I also love finishing an outfit off by adding my own accessories.
What trend do you want to try this season?
I don’t really know about what trends are happening right now, if I’m being honest. I’m a hoarder and never throw clothes away, so I’m more into making the most of what I’ve got and buying accessories that go with my existing wardrobe. I feel like it’s more liberating to just get creative with what you own and to be inspired enough to create something new out of your own clothes.
Is there a particular outfit you always feel great in?
I cannot resist a good boiler suit. I have a yellow one and a denim one, and I feel so good in it.
Do you always finish off an outfit in any particular way, like an accessory or styling trick?
I always wear earrings, a small bag, fingers full of rings and lipstick. When I want to change my hair, I wear it up.
What would you recommend from H&M this season?
The checkered skirt, berets and the sports sweatshirt.
