Long gone are the days when fashion week was a super-exclusive event open only to industry insiders. Nowadays, social media opens up the runway shows to just about anyone with a semi-decent WiFi connection.
Instagram recently released the numbers from this year’s #NYFW, and it’s official: It was the most Instagrammed New York Fashion Week of all time. Racked reports that between September 10 and September 17, more than 26 million people took to Instagram and had upward of 200 million interactions about NYFW.
More than 200 million interactions in seven days, people! By contrast, F/W 15 NYFW, which took place in February, had only 85 million interactions. In a measly seven months, that number more than doubled.
