In what can only be called a total fashion coup, Australian rapper Iggy Azalea—whose superior style stature we have noted time and time again—has been tapped by MTV to host the next iteration of their iconic series House of Style.
Azalea will kick off her hosting duties with the new season's premiere on August 4, and according to a release from the network, she will lead viewers on cool journeys spanning from visits to the best vintage shops in L.A. to sets of music videos for other style stars like Rita Ora. The series, which originally ran on MTV from 1989 to 2000, will this time premiere on MTV.com, and will culminate during MTV's yearly Video Music Awards, during which Azalea will provide real-time commentary on the show's oft-controversial happenings.
"The biggest impact that ‘House of Style’ had on pop culture is its ability to make fashion fun and interesting to fans who are both diehard fashionistas or not at all,” Azalea said in a statement. "I am so excited to bring back this iconic show for another generation of teenagers."
