Fact: I always wanted to be a “jewellery person” but could never quite wrap my head around how to go about it. Would these perfectly accessorized girls I often envied just wake up in the morning and casually throw on anything from their jewellery box, or was it much more calculated than that? Did they wear the same thing every day? How much jewellery did they actually own? How did they do it?
Well, one day about a year ago, I finally decided: Enough is enough. I would become a jewellery person. So, I thought about it, and decided exactly what I would need to do so and over the last year I collected, piece by piece, until I was done. This could have happened faster, had I owned any of these things in advance, as some of you may, but as I was starting from scratch, I decided to take my time. Now I have a daily jewellery wardrobe of eight (yes, eight!) pieces that I wear every day and that go with everything, plus some extras for when I really want to layer it on. Here’s what it consists of:
- Simple (but not boring) studs
- Two dainty necklaces of different lengths and thickness
- A watch
- Two rings of different widths (watch hand)
- Two delicate bracelets of different widths (opposite hand)
- Optional: Two chunky bracelets (one for each hand)
