Here's Why the Jumpsuit Is the Most Versatile Item in Your Wardrobe

Despite my status as a jumpsuit-obsessive—even after all of the many seasons they've been fashionable for—I understand why girls can still feel unsure of how to wear one. They're notoriously difficult to take on and off, which makes them a risky choice for certain events and dates in your diary. And I'll admit that they seem like a one-trick pony. But this couldn't be further from the truth—a well-chosen all-in-one can be the most versatile piece in your wardrobe. Whether utilitarian boilersuit (which works just as well for the office as it does for brunch) or slinky and strappy (just as chic for date night as it is dressed down and layered over a tee) your choices and styling options are plentiful.

The plus points don't end there. Not only is it quicker to throw on a jumpsuit as a one-stop-shop of an outfit—eliminating any real stress over what to wear—the effect can be slimming, too. So aside from the fact that loo trips are a little slower, they're practical in ways your other wardrobe go-tos may not be. For a good idea of how to wear a jumpsuit, keep scrolling.

Style Notes: There's one rule about wearing a jumpsuit for a wedding—if you're going for a pared-back fabric, wear heels. But if your jumpsuit is a more luxe fabric, then flats will work. Either way, this is an exciting and alternative way to do a wedding-guest outfit.

#2: The Office

Style Notes: The beauty about a jumpsuit, and particularly the boilersuit style, is that it works incredibly well for the office. Got for a blue, black or grey, and you'll feel super smart.

#3: Brunch

Style Notes: With boots and your favourite bag, the brunching jumpsuit is a must. Bonus: If you have a looser-fitting option, then those second helpings won't be seen whatsoever.

#4: When You Have Nothing to Wear

Style Notes: Think that sequin jumpsuit is only good for a New Year's Eve party? Wrong. Add a slim-fitting roll-neck underneath and a pair of trainers, and you've got a perfect daytime outfit.

#5: Date Night
